Marketers love people like me. I’m a sucker for great packaging. Whether it’s exciting, novel, or in the case of Fine Accoutrements “L’Orange Noir” aftershave – classic. I’ll admit that the main reason for picking up one of Fines Aftershaves was the bottle that it came in. The simplicity of the logo and the glass bottle were telling me to add it to my bathroom counter. Of course great packaging will get me to buy your product once, but it needs to be a great product for me to buy it twice.

Back From Italy – Figaro Shave Soap

Perhaps it is my fault. My last trip to Italy was six or seven years ago. Long before I started to wet shave it was interested in any way. I arrived in Italy expecting to find more of a traditional wet shaving culture than I found. Getting What You Paid For – Discount Razor #3

Well is was bound to happen – getting what I paid for. A couple of months ago I started a new segment on TheCloseShave taking a look at discount razors. I would classify the first two razors as a success story. Sure the felt and looked cheap but the worked well enough, each having some redeeming quality to them. Enter razor number 3.
