Sam’s Natural Ravine Deodorant

A few months back I decided to make the rather costly switch to natural deodorants.  Having had success with my first natural stick of deodorant I went out searching for another.  The search lead me to a great find with Sam’s Natural Ravine deodorant.

I’m sure that some people reading this would disagree with me; that my concern with mass market deodorants is overblown, and it might be, but why risk it over an extra few dollars a month. The main concern with antiperspirants is the use of aluminum to clog sweat glands under your arms, some believing that there is a link between the aluminum and cancer. The concern with deodorant is parabens that are used as a preservative, another being triclosan which is used to kill odor causing bacteria which is actually classified as a pesticide.

But back to the Ravine Deodorant.  The most important issue, and I would imagine what concern most with using a natural deodorant is how well it works. I can honestly say that it works fantastically well. I didn’t notice any difference between this, or my sticks of Speed Stick.  There was no need to reapply halfway through the day. Or any stink at the end of the day sitting in front of the television (keep in mind that I am using this is the middle of the summer). An amazing job at keeping the odor away.

I love the smell as well. It has a very fresh pleasant soapy scent, with a slight sweetness to it, unlike any deodorant I have ever used.  A big departure from mass market deodorants. The scent wasn’t overpowering with a couple of swipes of the stick providing enough protection for the day.

If you are looking to make a switch to a natural deodorant you may want to consider starting with one of Sam’s Natural.  Although more expensive than some of the typical products on the market, it isn’t overly costly, a little goes a long way, the smell is great, and most importantly, at least for me, works great. And on top of all that their products are handcrafted, vegan, and cruelty free. Check them out on your website at Sam’s Natural or on Amazon.
