A few weeks ago a received a bar of Dr. Squatch – Cedar Citrus Bar Soap for Guys in my Chisel Shave Club box. I’m more of a Lever 2000 type of guy when it comes to body soap so the bar of soap from Dr. Squatch went a bit unnoticed until about a week ago when I needed a new bar of soap for the shower, so instead of reaching for another bar of Lever 2000, I opened my Cedar Citrus bar of soap.
The soap comes in an environmentally friendly type of package which really helps you buy into the outdoorsy type of scent from this soap. It is a wonderful combination of, as the name of the soap suggests, cedar and citrus, but it also has a hint of peppermint in there. It is nicely balanced and the fragrance isn’t overpowering.
So the soap succeeded in convincing me with its fragrance, a huge departure from my Lever 2000, and to be honest the Dr. Squatch is a far more enjoyable option. But how will it perform? If I’m honest I’m not really sure how to review a bar of body soap (this is my first one). I will say that I felt great and smelled coming out of the shower, perhaps I was paying more attention but definitely refreshing.
The most important element of this soap is the fact that it is all organic. [From their website: Ingredients : Saponified Oils of (Olive, Coconut, Hemp, and non-gmo Soybean), Shea Butter, Lye, Peppermint Leaves, Essential Oils of Orange, Cedarwood (Texas) and Rosemary.]
After a week of using the bar of Dr. Squatch Cedar Citrus Bar I don’t see how I can return to Lever 2000. I will definitely be trying other scents they have to offer.
