Four Fall Aftershaves

The only thing I really have against fall is that it means that we are that much closer to winter.  Otherwise I quite enjoy the fall; breaking out some of the v-neck sweaters you had tucked away, the leaves changing color, not running the air-conditioner giving your pocket book a rest. A change in season is also great time to rotate your shaving products. Exchanging your summer fragrances in exchange for scents that are warmer and richer. Perhaps with woodsy outdoor feel.

Fall aftershaves tend to be Musk, Sandalwood and Vetiver. Even those with a spicey tones work well. Adjusting your aftershaves is a good way to embrace the season and all of the emotions that go with it. So here is a selection of four aftershaves to consider for you fall lineup.

Clubman Musk After Shave

fall aftershavesI’m a big fan of Clubman products, the affordability, the barbershop nostalgia that it provides, and of course the smell. Clubman Musk is a great option for those looking for a Fall aftershave. With earthy leather undertones, this aftershave provides a real ‘manly’ fragrance. The scent isn’t overpowering as long as you are not pouring it on (you only need a little). If you have experienced the Clubman Class scent you won’t be disappointed. Available on Amazon. Fine Accoutrements L’Orange Noir Aftershave

I love this stuff, the bottle, the logo, and the smell.  The whole package really comes together. Although orange is the main scent there is the earthy undertones, menthol, and spiciness are wonderfully balanced. Fine Accoutrements L’Orange Noir Aftershave also has some staying power if you are looking for something to stick with you throughout the morning. Available from Amazon. Full review to follow in a day or two.

Ogallala Bay Rum and Sandalwood

Arguably one of the best scents to bring in autumn is sandalwood. What’s even better than sandalwood? Sandalwood with bay rum, especially when that bay rum and sandalwood is from the good people over at Ogallala. If you haven’t tried Ogallala products stop reading and go find some. The Bay Rum and Sandalwood complement each other really well and while you can make out each distinct scent they are clearly working in harmony. The bay rum seems to fade before the sandalwood leaving you with a distinct outdoorsy scent along with some lingering sweetness. The wonderful scent comes in a awesome blue cobalt bottle that you don’t need to worry about hiding in your cabinet. Available from Amazon.

Tabac Aftershave
I’m all out of this one, hence the stock image.

If you haven’t tried Tabac products you might want to investigate it a bit. Their affordable aftershave, which also comes in a cool looking bottle, and has a classic smell. It has a very clean and warm leather scent with some spicy hints – very nice. Like some of the other aftershaves mentioned, a little goes a long way, and the scent won’t linger for too long.  Just enough to get your day going.  Available from Amazon.
